Attending my first Milan Fashion Week Runway Show!

Stepping into Milan Fashion Week felt like walking straight into a dream I didn’t quite believe was real.

During my trip to Milan in February 2020, I had one of those surreal, pinch-me moments – I was invited to Milan Fashion Week.

Not just to attend, but to experience it inside one of the most breathtaking venues I’ve ever seen.

And of course, I couldn’t go alone… so I brought my sister Yasmin along to share it with me.

A First Glimpse of Milan Fashion Week

There’s something electric about Milan during Fashion Week.

You expect it to feel intimidating—fast-paced, intense, maybe even a little overwhelming. But surprisingly? It felt calm, stylish, and effortlessly cool.

People were dressed beautifully, of course—but not in an over-the-top way. It was more refined, more Milanese. Think understated elegance rather than trying too hard.

Even the usual chaos of photographers snapping street-style looks felt toned down compared to other shows I’ve attended.

It instantly set the tone for a very different kind of fashion experience.

The Venue: Palazzo Visconti di Modrone

The show took place at the stunning Palazzo Visconti di Modrone—and honestly, the venue alone was worth the experience.

This historic palace dates back to the 18th century, originally built by Spanish nobleman Count Bolagnos, before being transformed in the 19th century into a rococo masterpiece by the Visconti di Modrone family.

From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we’d entered another world.

  • Ornate ceilings dripping in gold تفاصيل
  • Grand chandeliers casting a warm glow
  • Intricate detailing in every corner

I’ve been to a few fashion shows before—but this was, without a doubt, the most beautiful venue I’ve ever experienced.

The Emerging Talents Milan Show

We attended the Emerging Talents Milan show on February 23 – a showcase bringing together innovative international designers in one space.

Arriving early turned out to be the best decision.

My sister and I were among the first inside, which gave us time to soak it all in – and, of course, do a bit of people-watching before the show began.

Once seated, everything unfolded beautifully.

The show lasted about an hour, with each designer bringing their own unique vision to the runway. Watching it all play out in such an opulent setting made the entire experience feel even more cinematic.

But what stood out most wasn’t just the fashion – it was the atmosphere.

It felt:

  • Relaxed
  • Intimate
  • Genuinely enjoyable

Not rushed. Not overwhelming. Just… effortlessly stylish.

Sharing the Experience with My Sister

One of the most special parts of the day wasn’t just being there—it was who I shared it with.

Bringing my sister Yasmin along made the whole experience even more meaningful. Seeing her excitement, laughing together, taking it all in—it’s those little moments that stay with you.

It turned an already incredible opportunity into something I’ll always remember.

Final Thoughts: Is Milan Fashion Week Worth It?

Absolutely—especially if you get the chance to attend shows like Emerging Talents.

It’s not just about fashion. It’s about:

  • The atmosphere
  • The people
  • The venues
  • The feeling of being part of something global and creative

And Milan? It completely lived up to its reputation.

Stylish, welcoming, and full of character—it left me wanting more.

A Heart Full of Gratitude

Leaving Milan, I felt nothing but contentment and joy.

From the city itself to this unforgettable experience, everything about the trip exceeded expectations. And sharing it with my sister made it even more special.

A huge thank you to Taerus PR for the kind invitation—it’s an experience I’ll never forget.
