About Me

Hi!

My name’s May, I’m a 32-year-old Palestinian-British traveller based in London, UK. This blog started as a place to document my adventures as a part-time traveller, sharing tips, guides, and experiences for discovering new cities, cultures, and destinations – all while balancing a full-time job. Now, it’s evolving to also include family travel, showing that adventure doesn’t stop when life changes.

I grew up in a family that loves to travel. My parents were born and raised in Gaza, Palestine, where travel wasn’t really an option, but once they moved to London and got their British passports, they made up for lost time. Every year, they took us to a new country, and that sense of curiosity and wonder for the world has stayed with me ever since.

After completing my degree, I went interrailing across Europe for a month – discovering new cultures, learning history, and falling completely in love with travel. Soon after, I started this blog to capture my experiences in one place. It began as a memoir of my adventures and has become a space to inspire others to explore the world – even if you have a full-time job.

In 2019, I married the love of my life, who shares my passion for exploring new places. Together, we’ve made a habit of squeezing travel into the gaps between work – from local UK micro-trips to long weekends abroad or two-week adventures in far-flung destinations. In February 2025, we welcomed our son, Adam, and our travels have naturally evolved to include family-friendly adventures. This blog now also covers tips, itineraries, and advice for travelling with kids, showing that family life and adventure can go hand in hand.

My aim with this blog is to give you practical guides, personal insights, and helpful tips for combining everyday life with extraordinary travel – whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or as a family. I hope my stories inspire you to embrace adventure in whatever form it takes, and I’d love for this to be a space where you can share your own experiences, ask questions, and find useful advice for your journeys.

Thanks for stopping by and reading!
