From the moment we arrived, everything about the hotel felt luxurious. We were lucky enough to receive a complimentary upgrade to one of the top rooms, and it completely exceeded our expectations.

The room was incredibly spacious, with elegant décor, a separate living area, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offered panoramic views over Baku and the Caspian Sea. It instantly felt like a place you could truly relax and unwind.

If there’s one thing that makes the Fairmont Baku stand out, it’s the view.

We honestly spent a huge portion of our stay just sitting by the windows, watching the city below. Seeing Baku transition from day to night – with the skyline lighting up and the Flame Towers glowing – was such a special experience.

It’s easily one of the best hotel views in Baku, and worth the stay for that alone.

Our Little Lift Adventure

After freshening up in the room, we decided to explore the facilities at Fairmont Baku Flame Towers and hopped into the lift to see what was around. One floor was labelled “Entertainment Room,” so naturally, we had to check it out. When the doors opened, we stepped into what looked like a huge space still under construction – completely empty and a bit eerie. After a quick look, we went back to the lift… only to realise it wasn’t responding anymore. We were completely stuck on that floor. What felt like hours (but was probably around 30 minutes) passed as we shouted and tried to get someone’s attention. Eventually, a staff member heard us, and engineers were called to get us out – definitely not the kind of “entertainment” we were expecting!

A Night In (That We Didn’t Plan)

We originally had plans to go out that evening, but once we settled into the room, we didn’t want to leave.

Instead, we cancelled our plans, ordered takeaway, and spent the evening watching a movie in the living room. It ended up being one of the most relaxing nights of our entire trip—and honestly, exactly what we needed.
