We went to Peru in May 2023 and had the best time. Below is a straight-to-the-point itinerary that I created and followed. Let me know in the comments if you’re planning to go to Peru!

DAY 1 – LIMA

• Arrive in Lima airport and catch a taxi to your hotel in Miraflores. Taxi is a fixed price of 60soles / £12 from airport to Miraflores
• Check in to the hotel, go to the supermarket, find a SIM card, pick up breakfast for the next day.
• Optional things to do in Lima: watch sunset at parque del amor, Indian market, walking El Malecón – Miraflores’ own scenic walkway, seeing the monumental calao
• Dinner suggestions: Saha/el chinito
• After dinner, eat picarones from a street stall in park Kennedy

DAY 2 – PARACAS AND HUACACHINA

• Do the ‘2 Day Tour inc. Nazca Flight (night in Huacachina)’ with PeruHop.
• 6am: PeruHop bus pickup
• 10am-12pm: Ballestas Islands tour.
• 1.30pm-3pm: bus from Paracas to Huacachina
• 4pm-6pm: Dunebuggy and sand boarding tour

DAY 3 – NAZCA LINES

• 7.45am: meeting time in Wild Rover to take the private transfer to Nazca airport.
• 11am: Take the 35mins Nazca flight.
• 12.30pm – 1.30pm: free time in Nazca city. Lunch at Nazca
• 1.30pm – 2.30pm: visit Acueductos de Cantalloc with peruhop
• Optional: 1 hour massage in ‘centro de masajes “flor de cerezo” Nazca’ for 50 sols
• 10.30pm: Take Cruz del Sur/ PeruHop bus to Arequipa

DAY 4 – AREQUIPA – Explore City

• 8.40am: Arrive in Arequipa – take taxi to hostel
• Have coffee at Waya Cafe on Plaza del Armes
• 10am- 1pm: Free walking tour with inkan Milky Way6pm: watch sunset at Mirador de Yanahuara
• Dinner at zigzag restaurant
• STAY THE NIGHT IN: Arequipa Hotel

DAY 5 – AREQUIPA – Colca Canyon day trip

• Full day tour of Colca Canyon – Starts at 3am, finishes 5pm same day.
• STAY THE NIGHT IN: Arequipa Hotel

DAY 6 – AREQUIPA – Relax Day/ River Rafting

• Stay at Cirqa Hotel and relax in plunge pool
• Optional: Half day river rafting at 2pm.
• 6pm: dinner at Chicha por Gaston Acurio
• 9pm: Take overnight Cruz del Sur bus to Cusco

DAY 7 – CUSCO – Explore Cusco

• 6am: arrive Cusco and check into hotel
• 7am-10am: have breakfast and book day trip tours.
• 10am – 1pm: Walking tour of Cusco
• 1pm – 2pm: Lunch at Green point and Peruvian coffee at l’atelier.
• 3pm – 6pm: Go to San Pedro market – do your shopping
• 7pm: Have dinner at Morena Peruvian Kitchen
• STAY THE NIGHT IN: Cusco

DAY 8 – CUSCO – Humantay Lake

• Humantay Lake All-inclusive Full-day Tour
• Dinner – Chifa Hao Yun
• STAY THE NIGHT IN: Cusco

DAY 9 – Sacred Valley + Mountain View Experience

• 6.30am – 11.30: Moray, & Salt Mines ATV Tour
• 2pm: Take taxi for Moray to Mountain View (20 minutes), relax, do horseback riding
• STAY THE NIGHT IN: Mountain View Experience

DAY 10 – Urubamba + SkyLodge Adventures

• 1pm – 1.30pm: Take taxi to Urubamba.
• 1.30pm – 3.30pm: Explore Urubamba. Visit Central Market and Cemetery
• 15.15 – 15.45pm: SkyLodge can pick up from Urubamba Main Plaza
• 3:30: Arrive to SkyLodge, safety talk and equipment
• 4pm – 5.30pm: Ascent
• 6pm – 6:30 pm: Briefing on how to use the lodge and have Dinner at 8pm

DAY 11 – Ollaytambo + Aguas Calientes

• 7am – 11.30am: Breakfast and Zipline Descent
• 11:15am – Skylodge will drop us off at Ollantaytambo. Explore city
• 3.37pm – 5pm: Peru Rail Observatory to Aguas Calintes
• 5pm +: Check into hotel, buy bus ticket for next day and have dinner
• STAY THE NIGHT IN: Aguas Calientes

DAY 12 – MACHU PICCHU

• 6am – 7am: Take bus to Machu Picchu
• 7am – 1pm: Explore Macchu Picchu – Circuit 2 and Inca Bridge
• 1.30pm – 2pm: Take bus down to Aguas Calientes
• 2-4pm: Have dinner at El Indio Feliz.el contra
• 4.43pm – 9.23pm: Peru Rail Vistadome train to San Pedro Cusco Station
• STAY THE NIGHT IN: Cusco

DAY 13 – CUSCO – Rainbow Mountain  

• Rainbow mountain day trip

DAY 14 – LIMA

• Take a flight to from Cusco to Lima in the morning.
• Optional things to do: Walking tour of Lina from historic city centre/ See barranco bus
• 7pm. Have dinner at Panchita restaurant
